Sheffield is a city of hills, and that has more effect on a flooring job than people expect. We travel over from Menston, near Ilkley, and plan installations properly, whether that's a single bathroom in Nether Edge or a full ground-floor reflooring in Crookes. We're honest that we're not based in the city itself, and rather than promising a same-day response we tell you plainly at survey stage what our timing looks like and stick to the dates we agree.
Nether Edge's substantial Victorian and Edwardian houses, many on a slope, often have solid stone or timber floor structures with decades of patching underneath a later tiled or vinyl finish, and that history needs checking before any microcement goes down. Crookes brings a mix of steep terraced streets and student conversions, where access up narrow hillside roads and limited parking are as much a part of planning the job as the floor itself.
Kelham Island is its own world again: former steelworks, cutlery works and industrial units converted into loft apartments, studios and independent bars and cafés, where an exposed, seamless floor finish suits the aesthetic of the building far better than a domestic-style tiled floor would. We also cover the newer developments closer to the city centre and out towards Ecclesall, Hillsborough and Dore, along with commercial units in the city centre itself.
